Use a formula in a report

How to create a formula within a report custom widget.

If you want to display a formula on a report, you need to build your own widget first. Then you can select an existing formula from the option Choose data, or Create a formula from scratch.

Choose data

When choosing data, go to the Formulas section, and click Expand all to see all the formulas available. There are two types of formulas:

  • Prebuilt formulas from the Formula library

  • Custom formulas from the Organisation formulas

Create a formula

  1. As you build or edit a widget, click Create formula.​

  2. In the Row formula builder window:

    • Enter a Name for the formula

    • Select a Formula group

    • Select how you want the data to Display as, for example, as currency

    • Select a Variance analysis

  3. Write your formula.

  4. When you're done, click Save.

Your formula will automatically appear within your data selection in the Builder section:

It will now be available under the Organisation formulas whenever you select data in any new report or forecast.
