Display actual and forecast data in a report

How actual and forecast data display in reports for different forecast types in Futrli.

Written by Futrli Support

You can display actual and forecast data together in reports. The data shown depends on the forecast type used in the report.

P&L budget

A P&L budget only displays data for the forecast period. Periods outside the forecast range appear blank.

EXAMPLE:

  • Periods before the forecast starts appear blank

  • Periods after the forecast ends appear blank

3-way forecast

A 3-way forecast displays actual and forecast data based on the actual-to-forecast crossover date within the forecast itself.

The crossover date determines:

  • When actual data stops

  • When forecast data starts

Periods before the crossover display actual data. Periods after the crossover display forecast data. Periods with no actual data recorded may display zero values.

Why do some periods appear blank?

Periods can appear blank when they fall outside the forecast range.

For example:

  • Before a forecast starts

  • After a forecast ends

  • Outside the forecast financial years

The forecast type determines which periods contain data.

📎 NOTE: If the forecast type does not provide the reporting behaviour you need, you can create a new forecast and import predictions from an existing forecast.
