How to compare data in a report
Updated over a week ago

In Futrli's reporting tool, you have the option to add comparisons. This could be:

  • Comparing one date period against another

  • Comparing actual data against forecasted data

  • Comparing multiple forecasts against each other

  • Comparing actual data against last year's actual data

This guide will show you how to do all of the above in a report.

How to compare date periods with column formulas

On a table in a Futrli report you have the option to add a range of pre-built column formulas. When editing a widget, expand the Column formulas section.

There are a number of options available for further analysis of the data you're displaying. For specific variance, there is an option to look either the difference between two periods, or the percentage difference.

How can actual data be compared with forecasted data?

There is no limit to the number of budgets or scenarios that you can create in Futrli. Add to that your daily tracker forecast and you have plenty of data that might need to be reporting on against actual data.

When creating a widget for a report, all published budgets and scenarios will display within the Financial Datasets section.

There is then no limit to the number of datasets that can be included on a widget.

Simply drag and drop or double click whichever you would like to compare.
