Create a freestyle prediction

Create a manual prediction using the freestyle method to enter different values for individual periods in your forecast.

The freestyle prediction method lets you enter a unique value for each period in your forecast. Use it for one-off transactions or irregular income and expenses that don't follow a fixed pattern.


Create a freestyle prediction

  1. Open the forecast.

  2. Select New prediction, then Manual prediction.

  3. Select Freestyle as the prediction method.


Configure the prediction

Complete the following fields:

Prediction name

Enter a name for the prediction. This is the name that appears in the forecast and in any reports that reference it.

Account

Select the account you want the prediction to update.

VAT/GST/Sales tax rate

The prediction uses your default VAT/GST/Sales tax rate unless you enter a different percentage.

Store on the

Choose the day of the period to store the prediction.


Enter forecast values

Enter the amount for each period. Enter values excluding VAT/GST/Sales tax.

You can:

  • Enter different values for each period

  • Select an entire financial year or individual periods using the checkboxes

  • Add extra financial years by selecting Add financial year


Use quick actions

Use Quick actions to update multiple periods at the same time.

📎 NOTE: Quick actions become available after you select at least one period.

Available options include:

Set selected to

Apply the same value to all selected periods.

Increase/decrease by percentage

Increase or decrease selected values by a percentage.

Increase/decrease by amount

Increase or decrease selected values by a fixed amount.

Split between selected

Evenly divide a value across the selected periods.

📌 TIP: To clear all values, select the required periods, choose Set selected to, enter 0, then select Update.


Set the cash flow payment treatment

Choose how the prediction affects cash flow.

Available options are:

  • Same day payment

  • Single payment

  • Multi: in days

  • Non cash transfer

📌 TIP: If you select Non cash transfer, choose a balancing account.


Review the Accounts impacted tab

The Accounts impacted tab shows how the prediction affects your forecast, including:

  • The selected Profit & Loss or Balance Sheet account

  • VAT/GST/Sales tax

  • Bank accounts

  • Accounts receivable or payable

📎 NOTE: This tab appears after you enter a prediction name and select an account.
