Recurring Revenue template

How to populate data in the Recurring Revenue template.

Updated over a week ago

The Recurring Revenue template lets you predict up to ten streams of recurring revenue, based on growth and churn assumptions.

Before you add data to this template to import, you must:

Once you've done this, we explain below how to add data to the Recurring Revenue template in your Master Sheet.

⚠CAUTION:

  • Don't delete any rows or columns from the sheet

  • Don't add any additional rows or columns. If you require more rows, use a separate template

If you accidentally do any of the above, this will corrupt the sheet. In such a case, you’ll need to open a new template, copy it to your Master Sheet again, and restart the process of adding data.

  1. Click the Forecasting tab, then view the forecast you want to import predictions into.

  2. Once in the forecast, click New prediction in the top right, then click Import templates on the dropdown.

  3. Click Open Master Sheet and go to the Recurring Revenue tab.

  4. Enter your data into the white cells. You'll find an explanation of what to input for several of them.

⚠CAUTION: Only paste values if you're pasting data from another source. This is because the sheet has underlying formulas.

    • Latest actuals - When are these predictions starting from? Use the dropdown to select the last month of actual data you have available, remembering that actual data will replace forecasted data when available

    • User count - If you're going to be basing your recurring revenue on users, enter the number of users you have to base your numbers on moving forwards

    • Monthly revenue - This doesn't need to be specific, this number will be from what future increases or decreases will be based on

      • Growth, Expansion, Churn and Contraction - Set the amount and select if this will be a value, a per cent, or a number of users per month

      • Account

      • VAT/GST/sales tax

      • Payment days - From the date the invoice is raised, how many days does it take the customer to pay

      • Prediction name - This is what you'll then see in Futrli once the sheet has synced

    • Monthly period header - Select the first month to start with. The following months will populate automatically

    • Monthly overrides - Click the + icon to expand the section:

  5. You have up to ten predictions available to add to this sheet. Scroll down and click the + icon to the left to expand the rows and set up further predictions.

  6. When finished, you'll have a green tick at the top of the page. This means you can continue to sync the import template to Futrli.

  7. When the red cross is showing, the data isn’t ready to sync. You'll need to expand the rows to see which information is missing.
