How to replace and create a new Master Sheet.

Updated this week

The templates used to import data into a forecast in Futrli need the Master Sheet to be able to link with your accounts. If you update your chart of accounts, you’ll need to create a new Master Sheet:

When you first set up your Master Sheet, it takes a snapshot of every account that exists in the organisation's chart of accounts. Because the Master Sheet isn’t connected to your organisation, changes to your chart of accounts won’t update automatically.

📌TIP: You won't need to start fresh with your templates. You can move existing predictions from the previous Master Sheet to the new Master Sheet.

Create a new Master Sheet

Before you can create a new Master Sheet, you need to remove the existing Master Sheet.

  1. Click the Forecasting tab, then view the relevant forecast.

  2. Once in the forecast, click New prediction in the top right, then click Import templates.

  3. If you need to copy the existing templates to the new Master Sheet, click Open Master sheet.

  4. Click the trash can icon at the top to remove the Master Sheet.

Note: This won't delete the file from your Google drive, it will only disconnect it from your Futrli account.

  5. Once deleted, the option to create a new Master Sheet will now display.

  6. Follow the steps in our guide to Set up your Master Sheet.

Move existing predictions into a new Master Sheet

After you create a new Master Sheet, you can move existing templates from the old Master Sheet to the new one.

  1. Go to your old Master Sheet.

Tip: If not already open, you can access it from Google drive > My drive > Futrli Sheets integration.

  2. For any sheets with predictions you want to keep, right-click on the tab.

  3. Click Copy to and then Existing spreadsheet.

  4. Select the new Master Sheet.

  5. When you open the new Master Sheet, you now see the new tab added as a copy.

  6. To bring it into Futrli, add the name of the tab to step three in the Control sheet. You can then head into Futrli and sync the import.
