How to replace and create a new import Master Sheet.

Updated over a week ago

The templates used to import data into a forecast in Futrli are linked to your Futrli account by your Master Sheet.

When you first set up your Master Sheet it takes a snapshot of every account that exists in the organisation's chart of accounts. The Master Sheet isn’t connected to your organisation, so changes to your chart of accounts won’t update automatically. You’ll need to create a new Master Sheet whenever you update the chart of accounts.

📌TIP: You won't need to start fresh with your templates. You can move existing predictions from the previous Master Sheet to the new Master Sheet.

Create a new Master Sheet

Before you can create a new Master Sheet, you need to remove the existing Master Sheet

  1. Click the Forecasting tab, then view the relevant forecast.

  2. Once in the forecast, click New prediction in the top right, then click Import templates on the dropdown.

  3. At the top is a bin icon . Click this to delete the Master Sheet.

  4. Once deleted, the option to create a new Master Sheet will now display.

📌TIP: Use our Set up your Master Sheet guide for steps on how to set this up

Move existing predictions into a new Master Sheet

After you create a new Master Sheet, you can move existing templates from the old Master Sheet to the new Master Sheet.

  1. Open the old Master Sheet. For any sheets with predictions you want to keep, right-click on the tab.

  2. Click Copy to and then Existing spreadsheet.

  3. Select the new Master Sheet.

Screenshot of Google Sheets showing a dropdown menu with options like “Rename Sheet,” “Delete,” “Duplicate,” and others, indicating actions you can take on a selected sheet. The visible tabs at the bottom suggest multiple sheets, with one named ‘Custom Monthly Template for Futrli’.

  4. When you open the new Master Sheet, you now see the copy of that tab has come across to it.

  5. To bring it into Futrli, add the name of the tab to step three in the Control sheet. You can then head into Futrli and sync the import.
