How to show actual data on a report for the last year.

When you create and build a report, you can build a widget that shows last year's actuals on the report.

Below is an example displaying the last 12 completed months of 'Income data' on a table.

  1. In your widget builder, select Actual data from the Datasets box.

  2. In the Date range section, set the period of time being looked at on the widget as Last month, then And the prior 11 periods.
    ​

  3. Within the Rows or Axis section, you can either click Choose data to select data from the chart of accounts, or click Create formula to build your own formula. In this example, click Choose data.
    ​

  4. You can select income from within the Profit & Loss statement within the Financial data tab.

Common questions

How do I display the results for this time last year?

When you build a widget, use the Prior year actuals dataset.

How do I compare this year and last year together?

When you build a widget, use both the Actual data and Prior year actuals datasets in the same widget.


How do I display the last 12 months of data?

The number of periods displayed is based on the Periods number set in the widget under Date range.
