Learn how to populate the Recurring Revenue template

Updated over a week ago

To use this template, you'll need to have:

Please do not

  • Delete any rows or columns from this template.

  • Add any rows or columns to this template.

  • Override any cells. If pasting data, please paste values only.

If you accidentally do any of the above, you may corrupt the sheet. If this happens, you will need to open a new template, copy it to your Master Sheet again, then restart the process of adding data.

Step one

Unlike some other templates, the Recurring Revenue template requires no hidden settings to be opened and completed. You'll only need to add data to the white boxes. You'll find an explanation of what to input for several of the cells.

Latest actuals: When are these predictions starting from? Use the dropdown to select the last month of actual data you have available, remembering that actual data will replace forecasted data when available.

User count: If you're going to be basing your recurring revenue on users, enter the number of users you have to base your numbers on moving forwards.

Monthly revenue: This doesn't need to be specific, this number will be from what future increases or decreases will be based on.

Growth, Expansion, Churn and Contraction: Set the amount and select if this will be a value, a percent, or a number of users per month.

Account: Which account is this recurring revenue going to be set against?

VAT/GST: Set the VAT/GST.

Payment days: From the date the invoice is raised, how many days will the customer in question take to pay.

Prediction name: This is what you'll then see in Futrli once the sheet has synced.

Step two

You have up to ten predictions available to add on this sheet. Scroll down and open out the rows to set up further recurring revenue predictions.

Step three

When finished, you'll have a green tick at the top of the page, effectively giving you the green light to carry out the sync. If this isn't green, you'll be able to open the rows to see which information is missing.

Step four

To get the sheet into Futrli, you'll need to copy and paste the tab name into the Control Sheet. This guide runs through that process in more detail.
