Create a non-financial driver to add non-financial data

How to add non-financial information to your Futrli organisation.

Written by Futrli Support

The Non-financial drivers section in Futrli is how you add information that isn't pulled through from your data source (Sage Accounting, Xero, QuickBooks Online or an Excel organisation).

To add this non-financial data, you must create a non-financial driver.

📌 TIP: You can also create a non-financial driver by duplicating an existing non-financial driver. You can then edit the duplicate. To add non-financial drivers in bulk, you can use the Excel upload option.

Step 1 - Create a non-financial driver

There are two methods to create a new non-financial driver. You can use the Create option in the top menu bar, or you can click into the Non-financial drivers section (via the Settings dropdown in the top menu bar).

Step 2 - Non-financial driver methods

There are two methods you can choose from to add non-financial information:

Freestyle

In this commonly used method, you can easily add the appropriate number to the month in question. Alternatively, you can use the Quick actions to set numbers in bulk.

You can then set which day of the month to set the data against. For example, the last day of the month.

📌 TIP: The Quick actions drop-down allows you to make quick changes to multiple years and/or months.

For example, you could quickly update all months in 2024 to 100, then increase the amount in January and February 2024 by 10%.

Formula

The formula method allows you to combine any non-financial drivers with ones you've already added, and then manipulate that data further in a formula.

Step 3 - Add to a group

If you've created groups for your non-financial drivers, you can assign this new non-financial driver to one of them.

📌 TIP: You can directly reference this non-financial driver group in a formula or report.

Step 4 - Set decimal display

Set what decimal place you want the figures to show. For example, 0.00.

When you're done, click Create. The new non-financial driver appears in the non-financial drivers section and is available to reference in any formula, or when you build a report.
