Use the Stock template to forecast sales, cost of sales and stock purchases.
Before you start
Before you begin, create an import Master Sheet and copy the stock template into it.
CAUTION: Don't:
Delete any rows or columns
Add any rows or columns. If you need extra rows, use another Stock template
If you change the template structure, create a new template, copy it into your Import Master Sheet again, and start over.
Open the Stock template
Open the forecast.
Select New prediction, then Import templates.
Select Open Master Sheet, then open the Stock tab.
Complete the Income section
Unlike some other import templates, the Stock template has no hidden settings to complete. Enter data into the white cells only.
Select the first forecast month. The remaining months populate automatically.
Select the income account.
Enter a prediction name.
Select the VAT/GST/Sales tax rate.
Enter the invoice day and payment terms.
Enter the forecast income for each month.
đ TIP: If you've already forecast this income elsewhere, clear the import checkbox. The template still uses the values for its calculations, but Futrli won't create a duplicate prediction.
Complete the Cost of sales section
For each cost of sales prediction:
Select the cost of sales account.
Select the related income prediction.
Enter the cost of sales percentage.
Select the stock account.
The monthly values calculate automatically from the income forecast and cost percentage.
Complete the Purchases section
For each stock purchase:
Choose whether to post the cash impact to the Cost of sales account or the Inventory account.
Select the account to update.
Link the purchase to the relevant cost of sales prediction.
Enter the invoice day, VAT/GST/Sales tax rate, and payment terms.
Enter the purchase values for each month.
CAUTION: If you're copying data from another source, use Paste Values only to preserve the template formulas.
Check the template
If a red cross appears, the required information is missing. Expand the rows and complete the missing fields.
When complete, a green tick appears at the top of the worksheet to show the template is ready to sync back to Futrli.
